VENDOR SPOTLIGHT
There were over a dozen vendors who participated in the Granary Music Market at Fisher Brewing on Saturday Dec. 14, 2024. See below for more information on a few of the folks who attended, including a summary of what they brought to the market.

BRUISECASTER
Peter Holslin, aka Bruisecaster, is a music journalist, DJ, electronic producer, and longtime music collector with passions that range far and wide. He’s written for publications including Rolling Stone and Pitchfork, co-hosts the monthly show Merienda on KUAA 99.9 FM, and is involved in local Tape Nites alongside other cassette connoisseurs.
A curated collection of CDs going back nearly 25 years makes up the bulk of Bruisecaster’s inventory. The stock spans the genres of electronic music, international music, hip-hop, punk, noise, metal, and experimental. In addition, expect a selection of used vinyl odds and ends that includes post-punk, new wave, salsa, and Folkways field recordings.


CHASEONE2 SOUND
Chase is an avid collector of records. All genres, all styles. He began deejaying and collecting in 1998. You can catch him on Tuesday nights on his radio show The Long Walk Home from 7-10pm on KUAA 99.9 FM
Offering a wide variety of hand-picked LP’s from his personal collection, along with some funk/soul/boogie 45’s, and a good mix of cassette tapes.
PEASANTRIES & PLEASANTRIES
Peasantries & Pleasantries is a former record store, now turned vendor at FOUNTAIN Records. While they are no longer their own handpicked record store the ethos remains the same…sourcing immutable sounds: past, present, and “future” that fall between the cracks of everyday listening.
Records and tapes spanning all kinds of genres: folk, abstract, jazz-y, experimental, electronic, “ambient”, ethnic/ethnographic, minimalism, spiritual, left field, and other esoteric sounds.


NEON BROWN
Neon Brown is a producer/composer/DJ who has produced for the likes of Quelle Chris, Guilty Simpson, Trailer Limon, Vursatyl, Vast Aire, Deca, Truck North (The Legendary Roots Crew), Zion I and many more.​ His composition spans many genres and companies including, Nike, HBO, Netflix, Apple and a some short films. Brown has collected records since he was 13 years of age and has been professionally DJing for over 20 years.
His taste in records is multi-genre. Boogie, disco, house, funk, soul, psych, world, jazz, hip hop, etc. Nearly every genre.
He’ll be selling rare gems, $1 bangers, and everything in between. A renaissance man when it comes to music. He’s for the DJ, the producer, audiophile, and the once in a while pick up a record schmohawk. 12’s, 7’s, LP’s, and EP’s.

THE SOUND DEPARTMENT
The Sound Department started as a group of close high school friends with a shared love of music. What started as buying whatever hip hop/rap/reggae CDs they could get their hands on has now turned into a 20-year long record obsession which opened the door for their weekly radio show on 99.9 FM KUAA.
Touching on a variety of genres. While their radio show is focused primarily on funk and soul, their offerings cover a wider range of sounds and styles. Something for everyone!
SYNTH AND SOUL
Ryan Condrick is a local DJ and longtime music collector with over 20 years buying and selling records. He runs an online record shop called Synth and Soul. He's a resident DJ at Bar Nohm and The Pearl, and is a frequent contributor to events produced by Social Disco Club, Caviar Club, and Bitter Lovers.
Synth and Soul is known for their diverse collection of independent and international music. Expect a carefully curated selection of used and new vinyl including hand-picked items from various overseas distributors/labels focusing on boogie, disco, funk / soul, Italo, house, African, Latin music and more.
